I have been making this model since the end of 2019, when I presented a structural copy for the Tucumán Luthery School Competition and won 1st prize. This is a small guitar at least in body size with the original scale being 640mm. I have made them with 630 and smaller and they sound great. Despite the small size these guitars have big sounds and surprisingly big basses too.
The guitar has a 5 strut top and can be made as an exact copy or a structural copy using the plantilla and dimensions but substituting everything else. The original was in flamed maple but I have used a range of materials like Padauk, Argentinian Laurel, Caroba (Jacaranda) etc .
The timbre will depend on the blend of woods that will be combined, for these types of guitar I only use European Spruce or exceptionally Engelmann spruce to try and maintain the type of sound that would have been heard originally.
This model always surprises people with its big sound and projection for its small size, and its now becoming a popular model. The guitar is not for everyone perhaps, especially if you are a tall person, but once you try these guitars for yourself I guarantee you will be converted!!
